Spin casting allows you to make faithful mass reproductions, even from a single model, in a short time and with great simplicity
What is spin casting
Spin casting, also called centrifugal casting, uses molds made of silicone rubber into which to cast materials such as low-melting-point white metal alloys, resins (epoxy, puliurethane, or polyester), and other materials, to make the products in its own catalogs.

Automated casting and manual casting
Cabe has in its catalog spin casting machines with manual casting and machines with automated casting. The former are more economical and suitable for those who are starting out or have small production. The latter have the advantage of significantly increasing hourly production by reducing downtime.
Steps in the production project
Vulcanization
- The models to be reproduced are placed between two “raw” rubber discs inside a molding box.
- The molding box is then introduced into a press called a vulcanizer where the rubber is pressed and heated for about an hour.
- At the end of the treatment, the imprints of the models remain permanently imprinted on the discs, which make up the mold.
Channel cutting, mold refinement

The vulcanized mold is removed from the molding box.

The silicone rubber discs are separated, and the models are taken out.

Feeding channels are created using scalpels. These channels allow the molten metal to reach each of the impressions left by the models.
Rubber metal casting
- The mold so made can be placed inside the centrifuge.
- The molten metal is taken from the melting furnace and poured into the conduit leading to the rotating mold. The way the metal is poured changes depending on the type of equipment, whether manual or automatic.
- The first pours may be used to improve and correct the channels in case the impressions do not fill completely.
