Injection-centrifugal melting unit IC2/400 F300 PLC
IC2/400 F300 PLC
Two-station injection-centrifugal melting unit for casting metal in silicone rubber moulds.
The IC2/400 F300 PLC metal injection unit guarantees a high degree of automation and exceptional casting quality. The two-station table accelerates the production cycle by reducing downtime. The platens accommodate moulds of up to 400 mm diameter: the excellent quality guaranteed by metal injection can thus be used to produce subjects of significant dimensions.
Patented technology
Metal injection
The special injection system draws molten metal from the center of the crucible, where there is no slag. The metal is then injected into the rotating mold quickly and without suffering thermal shock.
Reduction of downtime in the production cycle
By means of a touch-screen interface you can program different “menus” formed by the five working parameters:
- Mold rotation speed
- Pressure to be applied to the mold
- Centrifugation time
(for cooling the metal) - Direction of rotation
- Amount of metal injected
The melting unit set up in this way is ready to act independently, controlling every operation in the production cycle. Choosing appropriately from the previously configured menus will automatically start the preset work program that will independently manage all casting parameters.
All you have to do is remove the castings from the molds, which will be presented to you on the plates of the capacious eight-station table.
What are the main advantages
Top quality
The mechanical thrust of the piston acts on the metal differently from traditional gravity casting. You will get more compact castings and more beautiful surfaces.
Energy savings
The metal is pushed into the mold faster by piston action; it also travels through a fully heated duct. The temperature does not dissipate until the metal reaches the mold. You can then lower the operating temperature of the crucible.
Faster work cycles
The thrust impressed by the piston will allow the metal to fill every part of the moulds, even using less fluid: you will be able to keep the temperature of the metal lower, which will cool and solidify faster after filling the mould, reducing the spinning time. In addition, the lower thermal aggression on the rubber surface will make your moulds last longer.
